Garage Jam Pricing and Value

At Garage Jam, we offer jam sessions for $40 per musician, and we want you to understand the value behind it. When you join us, you get more than just a jam session. We take care of all the details, arranging the studio room hire, so you can focus on what you love – making music. You'll also gain access to our exclusive Facebook group, where you can connect with fellow musicians, seek advice, and expand your network.

Running a small business like ours comes with its costs. We have website and software expenses for smooth administration, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. Our dedicated owner, Johnny, invests a significant amount of time marketing Garage Jam and recruiting new talent, all to create an incredible musical community for you. You'll see Johnny's passion first hand as he shares exciting content on our social media platforms.

But that's not all! As a bonus, we host a FREE tri-monthly event at the Backroom. It's a chance for musicians like you to connect, form bands, and showcase your talent on an exclusive Garage Jam stage. How Often Do We Jam?

Initially we started jamming once every 4 weeks. Now due to popularity and growing numbers we offer the option for a jam session each week. You can check with the genre groups either in the facebook chats or Notion pages when they are getting together next, and book in on the date you all agree on.

What do I get for 

What Day and Time Do We Jam?

We usually book Neon Studios for either Saturday or Sunday between 1pm and 5pm.

When is the Next Jam Day?

Each music genre product listing will have weekly options (choose from either Saturday or Sunday). Best to chat with the other members in the music genre you're interested to check which dates they are getting together next. If you're not sure, book in anyway, and we can always transfer your booking to a future date where needed.

How Much Is It?

$40.00 per person each rehearsal/jamday

How Does It Work?

The system works with a tag in, tag out idea, meaning that singers or musicians choose 7 to 8 songs at the least (that's to cater for their limited practice time at home ) before the jam, discuss it in the chat group and then jam them out on the day. 

We're aiming for two of everything, meaning two vocalists, two guitarists, two drummers and two bassists. So it's a great idea to alternate in the session and take turns  playing different songs so it's not too overpowering.

The main idea is that on the day if we have cancellations we have enough people coming that we can still put together a full band.

Is There An Age Limit?

Nope, no age limit. Everyone is welcome. From time to time, we also have a teens group. We recommend parental supervision for jammers under 18 years of age.

Do I have to Bring My Own Instrument/s

Yes, you have to bring your own instruments, The rooms will have mics, mic leads, stands, 412 guitar cabinets, one bass cabinet and a P.A.

How Many Musicians Play At The Jam?

G.Jam is growing every jam, we had 26 people join us at the last jam. Everyone played at the same time in 4 individual rooms based on the genre they chose. Some weeks only 1-2 groups may be getting together, it all depends on each others availabilities.

What Happens If I Pay But Can't Come On The Day?

REFUNDS:

Due to the unique nature of these events, Garage Jam requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the event in order for you to be eligible for a 100% refund or you can opt for a credit/transfer to a future booking. If you cancel with less than 72 hours notice, no refund is permitted, due to administrative costs and room booking fees already paid.

CREDITS/TRANSFERS:

In cases where you have booked and paid for a jam but your group does not play on the suggested time, or for any other health or personal reasons, and pending 72 hours notice of cancellation has been provided, your booking fees can be transferred to a future date/jam session. Please complete this FORM to request your credit transfer.
